Call for Abstracts, Book on Philosophy of Spirituality



Call for abstracts for a collection of essays in The Philosophy of Spirituality, edited by Heather Salazar and Rod Nicholls (Brill Publishing).

The Philosophy of Spirituality focuses on the philosophical exploration of spirituality as a subject separate from religion. Essays may be supportive of, critical of, or exploratory of spirituality and will represent both the Continental and analytic traditions in philosophy.  Potential themes for submissions may include but are not limited to the following: the metaphysics and epistemology of spiritual experience, cultural comparisons of spiritual understanding, narrative identity and self-realization, Jung and symbolism, the language of spirituality and interpretation, the capacity of understanding spirituality as separate from religion within various religions, and so on.

Submit a 500 word abstract and C.V. to Heather Salazar at hsalazar@wne.edu. Indicate Philosophy of Spirituality in the subject line. Deadline for abstract submissions: November 1, 2016.
Upon acceptance of abstracts, full papers should be 7,000 to 10,000 words and are due in March, 2017.
